Sarah is currently attending medical school after a prior career in public accounting. She was injured in a barre class in 2017 just prior to matriculation and has spent the last several years navigating both medical school and complex hip issues.
After being routed to specialists of all types, Sarah was first diagnosed with a torn labrum and FAI. She had her first surgery in 2018 – a labral repair and femoral osteoplasty – which greatly exacerbated her pain. With the help of fellow hip patients (“hippies”), Sarah sought additional medical opinions and was finally diagnosed correctly with femoral anteversion. She then underwent a combined derotational femoral osteotomy and revision hip arthroscopy in 2019.
Sarah is now passionate about spreading awareness on femoral version and patient advocacy and enjoys serving as a resource for other hip patients.
