Sarah Roeder

Sarah Roeder is from Kalamazoo, Michigan, and is currently a sophomore at University of Wisconsin-Madison studying Exercise & Movement Science with minors in Athletic Healthcare and Promoting Activities for Diverse Abilities. She hopes to be a physical therapist one day. Outside of school, Sarah enjoys staying active in any way possible, but her favorites include hiking and running. Before experiencing hip problems, Sarah was a competitive dancer and was invited to move to New York City to train with the Joffrey Ballet School until hip pain derailed those plans. To combat hip issues, Sarah has had many scopes, a PAO, and is soon to undergo a capsular reconstruction. Since these procedures ended her dance career early, she has used that time to advocate against misinformation and make information more accessible so adolescents and young adults can easily digest their new diagnosis of hip disorders. She also is passionate about mental health awareness in athletes. She is so excited to represent Miles4hips as a junior board member and help people navigate through the long journey of hip dysplasia
