When: Saturday, October 14, 2023 from 9-11 am (ish)
Who: Hip dysplasia patients, caregivers, family, friends, colleagues, healthcare providers, and other community members are invited to join to celebrate community and raise hip dysplasia awareness. Please RSVP on our Facebook event page or email: email@example.com to get in touch with the organizers. Everyone is welcome, but knowing how many are coming can help us plan. Dogs are welcome on the trail, but not in the playground/picnic area, so please leave pups at home if it is too hot for them to be in the car that morning.
Location: McKay Lake Open Space (meet at the Nature Center picnic tables at the Zuni Street parking lot). Address: 13958 Zuni Street, Broomfield, CO 80023 (about 6 minutes off I25 near the Denver Outlets).
What to Expect: Join us at 9 for coffee, snacks, hip dysplasia-themed games, prizes, and socializing. We will do a short walk (0.4 miles roundtrip on crushed gravel) to McKay Lake at 10:15. If you want a longer adventure, there is a beautiful trail to walk/run around the lake (about 2 miles round trip from the parking lot). There is a beautiful Nature Play Area for kids and a fun bike park for any adventurous family and friends!
Although not required to participate, we welcome anyone who wants to help raise awareness and support the International Hip Dysplasia Institute to buy a 2023 Team Tee-Shirt (on sale through Thursday, September 14th) or make a donation to the IHDI (make sure to note you’re making the donation in honor of the 2023 Day of Movement Greater Denver Area team!)
